Technical Data

Head Channel shall measure 33mm wide and 30mm deep with a nominal wall thickness of 1.2mm to 1.4mm, extruded from 6063-T5 aluminium alloy finished in clear anodising to a thickness of 10 microns, or powder coated to a film thickness of 30 to 40 microns.

Spline Shaft shall be a tri-lobular aluminium extrusion of 6063-T5 alloy.

Slat Travellers assembly shall be moulded in a high engineering grade plastic, acetal co-polymer or equivalent and shall incorporate a worm gear clutch designed to prevent damage to the assembly when overloaded, and to assist in slat hook synchronisation.UV stabilised slat hook shall be supported on mating cam faces of a worm wheel to allow self-alignment of slats by a gravity centering mechanism. slat hooks shall be removable to allow replacement where required without dismantling the track system.

Slat Spacer Links shall be press-formed from 0.2mm x 8mm stainless steel (Din 17224) and shall couple the slat travellers together in a pre-determined spaced relationship and to allow variable lengths to be manufactured with equal overlap (minimum 12mm) between slats across the width of the shade.

Tilt Control shall be by means of 2mm diameter braided nylon cord with 4.5mm diameter acetal balls moulded co-axially to it on 11.8mm centres by pulling on a ballchain connected to a pulley.

Slats shall be 89,100 or 127mm wide as appropriate, and made of crowned prepainted aluminium, flat and shaped adgebeaded PVC, or plasticised woven and non-woven fabrics. PVC slats shall be provided with centrally located keyhole shaped apertures which shall be connected by a continuous 2.2mm diameter stainless steel ballchain. Aluminium slats shall be provided with moulded acetal chain connectors located centrally in rectangular apertures in the slats and connected by 2.2mm diameter stainless steel ballchains.

Fabric Slats shall be provided with bottom pockets housing slat weights which are coupled together by means of endless bead chains pivotally attached by clasps to each side of each weight. The clasp shall be capable of self-release from the bottom weight when the chain is subjected to accidental loads.

Bottom Linkage shall couple adjacent slats at the base to minimise differential movement of slats.

Channel Mounting Brackets shall be press formed angle brackets ribbed for stiffness and provided with holes for fixing screws and slotted holes for screw and nut attachment of the channel mounting clips. Finish shall be clear passivated zinc plate.

Bottom Weight shall be of moulded PVC compound incorporating an insert filler of high specific gravity. Integrally moulded posts supported both top and bottom shall be provided to enable pivotal attachment of  a bottom linkage chain at each side of the weight. All parts of the weight shall be of a smooth finish to facilitate assembly into the bottom pockets of a fabric slat.

Traversing Cord shall be 2.0mm diameter and constructed with a braided polyester jacket over a polyester core. The cord shall be held in tension by a cord weight.

Slat Carriers shall be of moulded nylon and shall be suitable for snap insertion into the hook of the traveller assembly.

Shaft Support shall be used as required to prevent the spline shaft sagging. multiple support will be activated by the pullcord traveller by way of magnets in the shaft support.

Options and Limitations

Horizontal Head 89 or 127mm Slat Size
  Minimum Width 5mm
  Maximum Drop 4mm
  Maximum Area 24sq.m
  Minimum Slat Overlap 12mm

Sloping Head 89 or 127mm Slat Size
  Maximum Sloping Width 4m
  Maximum Long Drop 4m
  Maximum Area 16sq.m
  Maximum Slope Angle 50 Degree

Note : Slat overlaps will vary according to a slat width and shade width but will never be less than 12mm. Centre overlaps are always 20mm minimum. The Sloping head Vertical Shade can only be a one-way draw and stacking to high end. A cord cleat is necessary to enable the shade to be held in the stacked position for sloping head Vertical.
